June - August 2008
Classes for ages 16 plus.
REGULAR CLASSES
- NEW FORMAT
Both Monday
and Wednesday evenings
Beginners
6.45-7.40pm. Beginners to 1 year
experience. Mainly Egyptian dance - learning the foundation
moves.
Improvers 7.45-8.40pm Building on the foundation
moves and adding props - veil and stick. Regional styles and
folkloric.
Intermediate
8.45-9.40pm.
Two years plus experience.
More advanced moves, choreography and sagat. Performance
skills.
(please note Imp and
Int at the Campus Summer Term 2 are merged and at 7.45pm).
Classes booked and
paid for by term. You also now have the opportunity to drop in to
the class below for £3 payable on the night (subject to
availability) - therefore applicable only to Improvers and
Intermediate dancers.

Beginners cost earlybird £43 before May 26, thereafter £48.
Includes end of term party. Improvers cost earlybird £47
before May 26, thereafter £52. Includes end of term party.
Intermediate cost earlybird £51 before May 26, therafter £56.
Includes end of term party.
SUMMER DROP INS. These are running again this year at
the Campus. 7-8pm technique. 8-9pm Drills and Thrills
- hard work, prepared to get sweaty and bring a mat or towel for
stretching. Dates - July 28th, Aug 4th, 11th, 18th,.
These are open to all, and will be a fast pace. Cost -
One class £6,2 classes same night £9.
Regular classes resume September 1st.

TRIBAL WORKSHOPS
American Tribal Style - this is a group based dance with
individual moves, group shapes, chorus lines, improvisation.
Moves drawn from Middle Eastern and North African dance with spanish
and Indian style influences. We are aiming for a performance
troupe "Purple Mahyem" so from september the regular workshop will
be closed to beginners. (Dancers with ATS experience please contact
me).
Percussionists/Musicians/Trainees. We have a percussion
group running beside the tribal class led by Trevor who will
facilitate playing for dancers whilst also teaching Egyptian and
others styles that fit with the tribal. Please contact us for
details. Open to non dancing partners and existing drummers.
Format - 7-9pm, one thursday evening a month in Yatton.

June 19th - places.
July 3rd - places.
August - no workshops.
September - resume, closed to begiinner dancers and percussionists
but there are some new beginner workshops planned.
Cost
Dancers
Per single workshop - earlybird £13 up to one week before, £16
thereafter. Pay for three in advance - only £33.
Drummers £5per workshop, drums provided although please bring
anything else you play as we will be "experimenting".
